Swedish company OptiGroup has acquired Netherlands-based packaging company Koemans Verpakkingen for an undisclosed sum.
With a turnover of €28m last year, Koemans Verpakkingen offers a range of packaging products and services to its customers.
The acquisition, which is OptiGroup’s second in the Netherlands, will allow the company to expand its European presence.
It will also allow the company to further strengthen its position in supply solutions for wrapping and packaging products to customers in the transport sector, e-commerce companies, food- and manufacturing industry.
Koemans Verpakkingen will continue to be managed by Frank Koemans as managing director along with his brother John Koemans.
In a statement, Koemans said: “Koemans Verpakkingen has been our family business for many years and it has been very important for us to find the right long-term home for it.
“With OptiGroup we share both values and business philosophy and we truly look forward to continue developing the company with the resources and support from OptiGroup.”
OptiGroup will include Koemans Verpakkingen in its packaging business segment and continue to operate under its current brand.
The acquisition marks OptiGroup’s 22nd addition in the last five years.

In July 2018, OptiGroup acquired Dutch firm Packagegroup Moonen, which distributes packaging solutions to the customers in the Benelux.
