Italy-based flexible packaging company Gualapack has purchased a majority stake in Easysnap Technology for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Modena, Easysnap produces a single-serve packaging system with a patented and easy-opening feature, which is suitable for liquid and semi-liquid products.

The company’s system allows users to snap the packet and pour any liquid or semi-liquid ranging from cosmetics and condiments to pharmaceuticals.

As part of the deal, Andrea Taglini will continue to serve as CEO for Easysnap Technology.

Taglinin said: “I am thrilled about this agreement with Gualapack, which is both a challenge and a huge opportunity for us to reach remarkable sales goals with an increasingly green approach.”

Easysnap Technology has exclusive rights for the Easysnap patent. It is involved in the research and development of materials, as well as, the production of the automatic packaging machine for industry application of Easysnap.

Easysnap Co-Packing, a company controlled by Easysnap Technology, provides a contract packing service for any kind of liquid product.

Easysnap Co-Packing is divided into two business units, of which one is dedicated to serving the food industry and the other unit caters to the cosmetics and pharma industry.

Gualapack president and CEO Michele Guala said: “We went through with this acquisition because we know the product and its potential well, but most importantly because we believe Easysnap’s success will accelerate in the future.”

The Italian firm has expertise in the production of pre-made spouted pouches, as well as flexible packaging solutions.
