Identiv, a provider of physical security and secure identification solutions, has introduced a new tamper-proof radio-frequency identification (RFID) label for anti-counterfeiting and brand protection applications.

Compatible with any near-field communication (NFC) inlay, the new RFID label has been developed to meet the security needs of the retail, transportation, and pharmaceutical industries.
The new label will serve as anti-counterfeiting and brand-protection solution for wine and spirit bottles, pharmaceuticals, and any item in transport that needs broken-seal detection or tamper prevention.
The labels can be personalized with custom artwork, different sizes, or chip combinations, enabling to provide different security levels.
In addition, each label can be delivered with variable data such as barcode, numbering or an end-user’s name.
The new tamper-proof RFID label incorporates advanced aluminum-etched antenna and tamper-proof release coating.
The antenna bridge can be destructed after the label is torn from any applied surface, including glass, paper, plastic, and other non-metal environments.
Identiv said it has provided cost-effective design for the label, which is not possible to tear off the complete antenna or label.
The label will not be functional and cannot be reassembled, if it is torn from an adhered surface. It cannot be reapplied to a new non-authentic product, once removed.
The secure labels work with most of the antenna sizes, as a generic design. The first version is provided with a die cut of 38 x 18mm and either an NXP NTAG or NXP iCODE SLIX chip.
Identiv is providing other chips and antennas to meet different customer requirements.
