CSafe Global has snapped up Softbox Systems, a provider of passive temperature-controlled packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical, life science and cold chain logistics industries, for an undisclosed sum.
CSafe, which provides temperature-controlled container solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, said that the deal is expected to bolster its passive product portfolio.
The combined entity will operate under the CSafe brand. It will offer a suite of thermal shipping solutions and become a one-stop-shop for all pharmaceutical cold chain shipping requirements.
It will also deliver critical temperature-sensitive products, including next-generation biologics, cell and gene therapy, and mRNA therapies such as the Covid-19 vaccine.
With the acquisition, Softbo’s SilverSkin, Silverpod and Tempcell brands are expected to complement CSafe’s active product portfolio, especially within air cargo.
Furthermore, the deal will help CSafe enhance its sustainable and eco-friendly offerings with new reusable and recyclable pallet and parcel solutions.

As part of the transaction, Softbox CEO Kevin Valentine will be appointed as the president of CSafe’s Passive Temperature Controlled Packaging Division.
