UK-based Colpac announced that it is working with customers for the development of adaptable packaging solutions to meet the current requirements of the hospitality industry.

The company has decided to design packaging solutions for the hospitality industry to address the issues associated with new social distancing and hygiene measures due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Colpac is engaged in the development of advanced hotel dine-in or take-out packaging solutions, including the adoption of paperboard platters to create a room service tray.

The platters will serve as a better solution to carry different dishes and accompaniments, helping hotels to avoid re-using traditional trays and cutlery. It will also help eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.

Colpac offers a range of food packaging solutions, including pillow packs for wraps and paninis, souper pots for porridge or soup and multi food boxes for both hot and cold dishes.

The firm’s solutions enable to divide space to cater to different dishes ranging from starters to mains and desserts. Inserts can also be integrated to enhance the space, as well as include sauces and disposable utensils.

Colpac will also create pre-made boxed meals to help key workers easily provide breakfast or dinner to the consumers in their homes.

The carry packs, which serve as a tamper-proof and hygienic solution to users, features easy-to-carry handles and.

It can also be used for holding a multitude of different food items that are sealed both at the macro-level of the outer packaging and the micro for the inner packaging. The carry packs and multi food boxes are more useful for restaurants and bars.

Colpac marketing and product head Kate Berry said: “Our European teams have responded to the evolving demands from international hospitality customers and created solutions to meet these needs, and we are now seeing this demand filtering through to the UK market.

“Having significant product stock levels has put Colpac in a prime position to develop packaging which meets the industry’s unique needs.”

In October 2017, a brand new premium tomato pack, created by Colpac, was launched onto the top tiers of Aldi’s supermarket shelves.
