Generic medicines distributor CivicaScript and speciality pharmacy SortPak have partnered to deliver the former’s medicines in packaging designed to increase patient convenience, savings and medication compliance.

SortPak will offer two options in packaging to make it easier for patients to take the prescribed medicines.

The first packaging option, SortPak, individually packages each dose subject to the patient’s time and day of medication.

The second option, SyncPak, adjusts and refills the medicine of the patients and delivers them directly in one box to patients’ doorsteps.

CivicaScript president Gina Guinasso said: “This partnership builds on our mission to make generic medicines affordable and available to everyone.

“Lowering the cost of medicines while enhancing patient compliance and convenience is a win for patients.”

Both partners will initially deliver medication on CivicaScript’s treatment for prostate cancer.

Under the packaging collaboration, CivicaScript and SortPak will also offer other medications including affordable insulin in the future.

SortPak co-founders Raymond Shirvanyan and Jack Simityan said: “We’re proud to join CivicaScript to make taking your medicine simple, convenient and more affordable. This whole-health model is truly the future of health care.”

SortPak is a URAC- and ACHC-accredited medications company, with expertise in managing the needs of people with cancer.

The company offers a hybrid pharmacy service to health plan members by acting as a one-stop pharmacy for maintenance and speciality medications. It intends to make medication consumption simple and easy.

The model maximises medication adherence by providing free delivery of all medicines and developing a routine for daily medication consumption.

CivicaScript said that the service also syncs all medicines to one date for a 90-day supply and sorts doses into pouches according to the prescription.

Additionally, the hybrid pharmacy service process refills and arranges delivery ahead of time.
