US-based plastic products maker Berry Global has rolled out a new line of upmarket reusable plastic cups for the foodservice sector to reduce the use of single-use packaging.

The new range is said to be available in a variety of sizes for hot and cold beverages, including soups, and is suitable for both on-site and takeaway needs.

According to Berry Global, the new drinking cups are durable and have a reusable feel. Each one has an inside stacking ring and ribs with smooth curves for better cleaning, and they are all dishwasher safe.

Additionally, this guarantees that they retain their premium quality feel even after extensive use, said the company.

Their stackable design takes less space during storage, the plastic products maker said. The range also has full customisation options for brands to further improve the customer experience.

Berry Superfos product designer Emma Gundersen said: “We aimed to create a range of plastic cups that is not only reusable but also serve as a canvas for customised expressions for individual businesses.

“The unique rib structure makes the cups visually appealing and adds a touch of elegance. On top of that, customers can create their own unique look for their brands by playing with the In-Mould Labelling (IML) space and having logos and messages printed on the cup.”

In addition, the cups can include an RFID chip or QR code to offer further customer engagement. They are available in 250ml, 400ml, and 500ml sizes for cold drinks and in 250ml and 500ml sizes for hot drinks and soups.

In a separate development, the plastic products maker announced the availability of its advanced Booster-S trigger spray through Berry Agile Solutions.

The service is designed to provide businesses of all scales with quality order fulfillment services and swift access, featuring low minimum order quantities and lead times of six to eight weeks for a new bottle and trigger spray solution.

The plastic pack provides a polyolefin plastic trigger that may be 100% recycled where suitable recycling facilities are available.

Berry Global said that it can provide a fully recyclable pack to assist businesses in achieving their sustainability goals when paired with a PET bottle.
