RPC Superfos has provided a tub with two variations for new spreadable butter of German dairy firm Müller Group.

Produced for Müller’s premium Weihenstephan brand, one version of the butter is packaged in an injection-moulded tub with same lid.
The other private label product, which will be marketed via major supermarkets in Germany, is packaged in an injection-moulded tub that comes with thermoformed lid from RPC Bebo.
The lid has been decorated by using the division’s patented pre-printing technology, Bebo Print.
Both packs feature soft flowing shape and combines vivid colours that reflect the taste and spreadability.
The injection-moulded lid is provided with a flap for easy opening and closing and produces a satisfying click when resealed.
RPC Superfos has developed and prototyped the convenient tubs at its innovation center in Denmark.
RPC said noted that both divisions refined and made technically feasible an initial design created for Müller Group by an external design agency
Müller senior packaging developer Martin Kunst said: “The RPC Superfos Innovation Centre is absolutely sophisticated and very inspirational. It is quite exceptional to have access to an advantage of this calibre.
“We tested a few versions of our pack and it proved to be truly valuable and useful to produce a small amount of packs so that we could achieve the perfect solution.
“At all times, all team members knew about all steps of the packaging development project. It has been a one-stop-shop experience, even though one of the solutions involved two suppliers.”
Müller is also planning to introduce new spreadable butter in several export markets, based on the success in German market.
In May this year, RPC Superfos designed new packaging for Sweden-based Skånemejerier’s latest Allerum mature cheese.
The company provided wedge-shaped pack with oxygen-barrier label, which enables customers to avoid use of plate foe serving and only requires finger-contact to serve cheese.
