Retail packaging designer and manufacturer Rohrer has wrapped up the acquisition of premier speciality printing and thermoforming company Jay Packaging Group for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Warwick, Rhode Island, Jay Packaging Group provides packaging solutions for customers in various industries, including beauty, luxe, home and health.

Jay Packaging is said to be one of the large creative package design, enhancement, and solutions companies in the Northeast for printing, folding cartons, and plastic components.

The acquisition of Jay Packaging will enable Rohrer to enhance the combined capabilities of both firms in the areas of high-end printing and decorating, carded blister, thermoformed, and folded carton packaging.

The acquired business will also allow Rohrer to accelerate its eco-friendly packaging goals, in addition to expanding its national manufacturing presence.

Rohrer CEO Steve Wirrig said: “Jay Packaging Group is an innovative company with talented employees. It’s exciting to expand our operations to the East Coast and invest in the people, plants and profitability of both businesses.

“Together, we can provide our customers with best of both worlds – unbeatable packaging solutions through Rohrer’s ezCombo programmes and custom printing and packaging options through Jay Packaging Group.”

In October this year, Rohrer completed the acquisition of US-based premier printer and folding carton converter Coburn Carton Solutions.

Rohrer, a portfolio company of Wellspring Capital Management, uses advanced manufacturing technologies to deliver retail packaging solutions for its partners.
