DMK processes milk into food of the highest quality with about 7,700 employees at over 20 locations in Germany and the Netherlands.

A&R Carton is a member of AR Packaging, which is engaged in the design, development, and manufacture of folding carton and flexible packaging products.

A&R Carton’s patented carton-based Sealio packaging system includes both material and machinery. It has less carbon footprint than comparable gas tight packaging alternatives such as tin cans and full plastic containers.

The lighter pack is easy to hold, open and dose from with one hand when the baby is on the other arm.

A tailored scoop holder will make sure easy dosing and minimize contamination while the tight reclosable lid avoids insects and moisture to enter.

The can is formed directly in the packaging line with all parts delivered to the food producer, resulting in reduced external and internal transports as well as the warehousing space.

Humana global marketing head Iris Behrens said: “Our myHumana Pack is a completely new type of packaging.

“This innovative packaging allows the preparation of baby formula more safely, more hygienically and easier than ever before.”

A&R Carton was also responsible for the installation of the complete packaging line including fillers, conveyers, case packing equipment.

AR Packaging business area director Lars Willner said: “Using our long experience in composite cans for barrier applications, we have now created a fantastic packaging solution which will meet the product and consumer needs of today and in the future. Sealio is ideal for food and nutritional powders where high barrier protection and food safety are vital.”

In 2017, DMK started to convert the traditional dairy site of Strückhausen, Germany, into a new factory for baby food.

Production in the new facilities has now began and powdered infant formula has been launched in its new packaging in various countries including Poland, Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal.
