Cepac, the UK’s leading independent corrugated packaging producer, has been recognised with a double win at the 2019 Starpack Industry Awards.

Now in its 60th year, the Starpack Industry Awards is the UK’s premier annual awards scheme, recognising innovation in packaging design and technology.
Cepac was successful in achieving two prestigious awards in the transit, industrial and distribution category with a gold award for its Ultima Kitchen Corner Unit pack and a silver award for the TMD Brake Pad box. Cepac worked closely with each client respectively, to produce innovative packs to meet each customer’s precise needs. This collaborative approach is true to the company’s core message: together we achieve more.
For the gold award winning Ultima Kitchen Corner Unit, the Starpack judges commended the level of design innovation used to create a solution for the difficult to pack product. Using a new contoured design, the team reduced the packing process from three components to one and utilised a clever, recyclable and biodegradable design which uses 50% less material than the original pack. Changes made to improve the packaging resulted in time savings for the customer and a reduction in packing costs.
For the silver award winning TMD Brake Pads pack, the panel recognised improvements made to the packaging, offering enhanced protection and security for the brake discs in transit. The new pack passed all transport trials with zero damage to the product through the transit chain. Additionally, the removal of the requirement to shrinkwrap the pack, has resulted in a 100% recyclable product.
