Plastic packaging products maker Berry Global has reintroduced its CHSA (Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers Association) accredited Green Sack range of refuse sacks.

Produced in Heanor, Derbyshire, UK, the refuse sacks are made from recycled agricultural and post-consumer plastic waste.

According to Berry, the latest version is easy to use and has improved seals for use in the cleaning, hospitality and facilities management sectors.

The sacks will be manufactured in rolls of 25 and packed in a more convenient-to-use dispenser box. This will enable more precise stock management, and easier transportation and storage, the packaging firm said.

Berry Global flexible films UK refuse sack business commercial director Lorcan Mekitarian said: “The Green Sack range has been a top seller for many years and the introduction of the convenience of sacks on a roll meets another key requirement of the away-from-home market.

“The range also continues to demonstrate our commitment to offering solutions that help our customers meet and exceed their sustainability goals as part of our Impact 2025 sustainability strategy.”

The current version retains its older designs and performance, offering the same puncture and tear resistance which have been independently evaluated by the CHSA for conformity with its Refuse Sack Standards.

Berry has added new features like multiple bottom seals across most of the range and star welds on the most popular lines.

With the help of these two product improvements, the sack now has enhanced leak resistance and strength integrity, the packaging product firm said.

This will enable the sack to attain a higher drop weight CHSA classification, which is a substantial benefit for consumers in the refuse sacks sector.

The new Green Sack range consists of over 90% recycled plastic, and RecyClass has validated the recycled content.

Available in a variety of sizes, the new range is designed to fit easily onto cleaning carts, further demonstrating its user-friendly benefits.
