The UBEECO Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UFP Industries, has acquired Australia-based The Box Pack Trust, operating as Boxpack Packaging, for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Melbourne, Boxpack has expertise in the production of flexographic and lithographic cardboard packaging using advanced CAD design and finishing techniques.

The acquisition of Boxpack will allow UBEECO to add a full complement of cardboard packaging products to its industrial packaging products, in addition to expanding the customer base of both companies across Australia.

Boxpack serves customers in multiple industries, including food and beverage, confectionery, pharmaceutical, industrial and agricultural.

Boxpack’s founder and director Andrew Moloney will continue with the company, as well as monitor the transition of the business to UBEECO.

In a statement, Moloney said: “We look forward to collaborating with UBEECO to expand our geographic reach and customer base throughout Australia, and we are excited to provide UBEECO’s products to our customers.”

UFP Industries international operations executive vice president Dick McBride said: “The addition of Boxpack brings us closer to our goal of becoming the leading packaging solutions provider in Australia and provides UBEECO with a broader portfolio of packaging solutions.

“We can now offer customers everything from pallets, crates and skids to a range of corrugated and consumable packaging solutions.”

In December last year, UFP Industries agreed to acquire packaging and containers company PalletOne for about $232m.

Established in 1955, UFP Industries has operating subsidiaries such as UFP Industrial, UFP Construction and UFP Retail Solutions,

The firm’s subsidiaries manufacture, distribute and market a range of value-added products used in residential and commercial construction, packaging and other industrial applications.
