Swiss packaging solutions provider SIG has supplied advanced filling technology to South India-based dairy product manufacturer Milky Mist Dairy Food to help satisfy the diverse demands of consumers.

The Swiss firm has supplied three high-speed SIG filling machines including SIG SmileSmall 24 Aseptic, a SIG Midi 12 Aseptic, and a SIG XSlim 12 Aseptic for aseptic carton packs.

The dairy product company will install the machines at its production facility close to Erode, Tamil Nadu to enhance its production capacity, broaden its product line, and offer creative packaging options.

The company will be able to provide items in a variety of quantities and packaging types to accommodate various usage scenarios and pricing ranges.

With the speed and versatility that each of these filling machines will provide Milky Mist, customers will be able to enjoy its goods in a wide range of packaging shapes, volumes, and designs, SIG said.

SIG India & Bangladesh markets head Vandana Tandan said: “We are looking forward to this promising partnership that will provide an excellent opportunity for both of us to expand our reach in India.”

Milky Mist can fill 12,000 SIG MidiBlocacks in three different volume sizes including 500, 750, and 1,000 ml per hour using the SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling equipment.

The dairy firm will introduce dairy products in SIG XSlimBloc carton packs in nine different volumes, ranging from 80ml to 200ml using the SIG XSlim 12 Aseptic filling machine.

These volume changes can be completed in less than 15 minutes, according to the Swiss packaging solutions provider.

The premium product market is mainly served by the SIG SmileSmall 24 Aseptic filling machine, which can fill 24,000 carton packs per hour with quantities ranging from 180 to 250ml.

Additionally, the business plans to pack items with higher viscosities, such as dairy creams, using the SIG filling machines.

SIG carton packs are supplied as flat-packed sleeves with the long side already hygienically sealed, in contrast to other solutions on the market.

Milky Mist founder and managing director Sathish Kumar T said: “The partnership with SIG aligns well with our core values of providing safe and high-quality dairy products to consumers.”
