Rahil (CPP) Films is engaged in production of metallized CPP film for the food packaging industry to domestic and overseas customers.

Designed to run at up to 840m/min, the Bobst K5 Vision metallizer is designed to handle a wide variety of film types in particular thin gauge and heat sensitive films.

The machine, which is ideal for flexible packaging converters and CPP/PE film producers, features a Ø600mm drum to provide better film cooling due to the increased surface area of the drum.

It also features a 2-zone gas wedge to provide additional cooling and better conduction of heat between the substrate and the drum.

Commenting on the new machine, Rahil (CPP) Films CEO Gaurav Mehta said: “When we decided to increase our vacuum metallizing capacity to meet demand, BOBST was our first choice due to their reputation in the industry.

“The machine is now installed and is running well and we are confident that we made the right decision, we look forward to continuing our relationship with BOBST in the future”

The Bobst K5 Vision machine is available in widths from 1250mm to 2450mm. It can house roll diameters of up to 1000mm.

The K5 VISION features the Bobst ECO Mode designed to reduce energy consumption by up to 50% during stand-by, thus reducing carbon footprint and providing significant savings in production costs for the operators.

Additionally, the machine also allows quick changeover of different film types making, as required for converters.

The machine also comprises pumping group with the lowest footprint which include dry rotary screw pumps with a consistently high vacuum performance, booster pumps for maximum efficiency, and floor mounted diffusion pumps to eliminate the risk for back streaming of oil on to the film.
