Rigid container and life sciences packaging provider Novvia Group has snapped up JWJ Packaging, a US-based supplier of drums, pails, and other rigid container and shipping products.

The financial terms of this private transaction were not disclosed.

JWJ, established in 2018, provides shipping and packaging supplies to clients in a variety of end sectors.

The firm distributes intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), shipping materials, a wide range of steel and plastic drums, and other accessories.

JWJ serves clients throughout the tri-state region with a comprehensive range of goods and services from its headquarters in Millstone Township, New Jersey.

Upon completion of the transaction, JWJ will combine with Novvia’s current New Jersey-based subsidiary, Rahway Steel Drum, which was purchased in December 2022.

The latest deal is Novvia’s third acquisition in the Northeast, an area the company has recognised as strategically important and experiencing rapid expansion.

The company is backed by backed by Kelso & Company, a New York-based private equity investment firm.

Novvia executive chairman Ken Roessler said: “In a short period of time, Mr Guttridge and the JWJ team have built a leading local packaging supplier that shares Novvia’s customer-focused values.

In January this year, the life sciences packaging distributor acquired the packaging distribution division of JF Shelton from Ravago Chemicals for an undisclosed sum.
