Kelso & Company-backed global rigid container and life sciences packaging distributor Novvia Group has acquired the packaging distribution division of JF Shelton from Ravago Chemicals for an undisclosed sum.

Washington-based JF Shelton Packaging Distribution is a distributor and supplier of bottles, drums, IBCs, and other rigid packaging solutions.

JF Shelton Packaging Distribution has an experience of more than 35 years of supplying rigid packaging goods to the West Coast from operations in Portland, Oregon, and Kent, Washington.

The firm provides a wide range of rigid packaging solutions, including plastic bottles and closures, fibre and plastic drums and accessories, IBCs, and other rigid packaging products to customers operating in a variety of industries.

Novvia executive chairman Ken Roessler said: “The acquisition of JF Shelton Packaging Distribution adds to our already strong West Coast portfolio.

“We are pleased to have partnered with Ravago Chemicals to complete this complex carve-out transaction.”

The deal strengthens Novvia’s position on the West Coast and will be integrated with Rhino Container, a rigid packaging subsidiary of Novvia with offices in Chino, California, which Novvia bought in December 2021.

Novvia Group is a national stocking distributor with a comprehensive suite of containers and supplies. It works through its family of firms like Inmark, C.L. Smith, Silver Spur, Container Supply, Fox Valley, etc.

Last month, Novvia Group acquired New Jersey-based rigid packaging solutions provider Rahway Steel Drum Company for an undisclosed sum.

Rahway provides different rigid packaging products to the Northeast. It offers a variety of packaging products to customers working in a variety of industries, including metal and plastic drums and pails, IBCs, refurbished containers, and other rigid packaging items.
