Packaging solutions provider Multivac has announced that it is now offering its L 310 full wrap labeller to label egg packs made of cardboard or plastic.

Featuring patented and servo-driven press-on brushes, the L 310 labeller facilitates automated C labelling and D labelling of packs with an output of up to 120 packs per minute.

With a maximum label width of up to 500mm, the L 310 labeller has the potential to run packs with a base width of up to 250mm and a height of 140mm.

Multivac’s full wrap labeller has the flexibility to install with a zero downtime function for more efficiency and process reliability, in addition to an integrated printer and label/print monitoring at even the highest throughput.

The full wrap label automatically seals the egg box closed, if the labeller is used for complete wrap-around labelling. It will help avoid exchanging or contaminating with viruses and bacteria, as well as hide stolen products.

The L 310 labeller is more suitable for aseptic or pasteurised eggs for the catering trade, hospitals and bakeries, infants and pregnant women.

Multivac’s labeller enables to print the full wrap label on different sides of the pack with variable data such as barcodes and apply automatically to the pack.

The labeller will help run either film labels made of PP or PET, as well as sustainable materials made from paper or renewable sources.

Based on the requirement, a perforation feature can be incorporated into the label. It will help to easily open the label.

In addition, the L 310 labeller facilitates printing on the back of the label for additional consumer information.

In June last year, Multivac, along with DS Smith, launched a new corrugated cardboard-based solution for fresh food applications.
