Mill Rock Capital portfolio company Mill Rock Packaging Partners has completed the acquisition of speciality packaging and printing company Impressions Incorporated for an undisclosed sum.

Impressions is engaged in the production of custom folding cartons and ancillary products for various end markets.

Based in St. Paul, MN and founded in 1967 by Mark Jorgensen, Sr., Impressions specialises in the design, engineering, and manufacture of paperboard packaging and commercial printing products for a range of end markets.

The company’s primary product line includes a wide range of upscale, sustainable, customised folding cartons for household essentials, medications, cosmetics, and other goods.

Impressions provides lithographic printing and a wide range of services, including product engineering, prototyping and post-print production.

The company operates production facilities in Minnesota’s St. Paul and Hutchinson.

Impressions will operate alongside Mill Rock’s other businesses as a sister company and take the lead in the firm’s national expansion plans.

The unified platform consists of five conversion facilities that provide high-design paperboard packaging to a variety of consumer markets driven by everyday demands.

As part of the deal, Impressions’ leadership invested in Mill Rock Packaging.

Mill Rock Packaging vice chairman and Mill Rock Capital senior partner Bob Feeser said: “Joining forces with Impressions is an exciting development for the clients, suppliers and associates of both organizations.

“The transaction marks our entry into the important Midwest market and will enable us to expand our product and value-added service offerings across the combined footprint.”

Impressions chief executive officer Mike Jorgensen said: “Mill Rock is the ideal partner to sustain Impressions’ longstanding commitment to quality, innovation and reliability.

“Our shared vision for future growth will benefit greatly from the additional resources and capability of the broader platform.”

Alvarez & Marsal and White & Case advised Mill Rock Packaging, while FINNEA Group advised Impressions on the transaction.
