Krones, a producer of filling and packaging solutions, has acquired Germany-based MHT Holding for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Hochheim, MHT Holding, along with its subsidiaries, offers injecting molding tools and services to the PET industry.
MHT’s solutions can be used in various applications, including beverages, food and pharma. The firm produces various PET preform designs and screw threads, which can be used ranging from extremely short water to sporty CSD-bottle necks and crystalline hotfill applications.
MHT also produces appropriate molds for wide-neck applications in the retail food section, and supplies blood vial molds for pharma applications.
The acquired business will help Krones to provide tooling solutions for PET preform manufacturing, as well as fill gap in its PET value chain.
Krones, along with MHT, will now provide a wide portfolio for PET solutions. The headquarters of MHT will remain at Hochheim, and the current management will continue to manage the business.
With around 125 employees, MHT generates around €25m revenues per annum.
MHT produces PET preform molds for all known machine types, and holds capacity to expand the maximum available number of cavities.
The company constructs molds for Netstal machines with up to 192 cavities, as well as molds for KraussMaffei machines with up to 112 cavities.
In April this year, Krones purchased 70% stake in Switzerland-based Integrated Plastics Systems, which offers turnkey PET injection molding solutions for the beverage industry.
In October this year, Krones acquired food and beverage processing equipment producer W.M. Sprinkman.
Established in 1929, Sprinkman supplies engineered food and beverage processing equipment for the dairy and brewing industries.
In September this year, Krones also acquired the business operations and assets of Shanghai Xiantong Equipment Installation.
Since many years, the Chinese firm has been a partner and supplier to Krones in the field of process technology.
Krones produces fully integrated packaging and bottling line systems, in addition to integrated brew house and processing systems, IT solutions and warehouse logistics systems.
