Ranpak, an American paper-based packaging solutions provider, has introduced the Geami MV wrapping system to strengthen its wrapping portfolio.

Geami MV is a compact powered converter that is said to offer the ideal balance of simplicity and productivity for effective wrapping solutions.

The wrapping system has an intuitive interface with function keys that are simple to control speed, load paper, and switch between preset and foot pedal modes.

The preset mode was created to save material by only dispensing a certain amount of paper when similar products are being sent, Ranpak said.

According to the company, the Geami MV system combines interleaf paper and sustainable Geami paper and supports light paper rolls for further surface protection.

The paper-based wrapping method is intended to cater to a broad range of businesses, including household goods, cosmetics, medical supplies, and electronic and mechanical parts.

It is also the latest converter in the Geami line of products and broadens the range of wrapping application solutions offered by Ranpak.

The packaging solutions provider said that the the Geami MV solution merges key elements from earlier solutions introduced in 2023, such as the Geami MS Mini and the Geami Wrap ‘n Go systems. This helps to increase productivity, conserve space, and preserve a consistent wrapping experience.

Ranpak CEO and chairman Omar Asali said: “The continued rise in e-commerce means shippers are looking to optimise, setting up their warehouses with many pack stations that are configured for spatial efficiency and productivity.

“Our customers are seeking solutions that help them conserve space but maximise throughput across the warehouse.

“The Geami MV solution provides our customers with new technology that marries the efficiency of a powered converter solution with the smaller size profile that is becoming more important in environments where space is at a premium.”

In February, Ranpak added three new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered vision tools to its Cut’it! EVO automated in-line packaging machine.
