KHS, a provider of filling and packaging systems, has further developed InnoPET Blomax stretch blow molder for PET container filling.
Suitable for the food industry, the modular designed machine provides an output of up to 2,500 PET bottles per hour and station.
According to the company, the demand is increasing for PET and wide-neck containers in the food sector, specifically for sauces, dressings and dairy products.
Based on the user requirements, the stretch blow molder can be integrated with other KHS systems such as InnoPET Plasmax and Innosept Asbofill for hygienic filling of sensitive products.
The stretch blow molder can also be incorporated with the new KHS chunk dosing unit, which is used for fruits, vegetables or cereals.
KHS’ FreshSafe PET coating method allows to fill sensitive products into transparent plastic packaging.
The method, which is successful in the beverage industry, is said to finish the inside of the PET bottle with a wafer-thin layer of pure silicon oxide.
Through its Bottles and Shapes program, the company works with customers to develop individual PET containers specifically tailored for functionality.
KHS Group also provides preferential heating system that ensures optimum material distribution and bottle quality with minimum energy in the stretch blow molding process.
KHS Corpoplast sales and technology head Frank Haesendonckx said: “This latest improvement enables preforms measuring up to 70 millimeters in diameter to be processed.
“We offer all producers of food and beverages in PET containers holistic consultancy from the design through technical engineering to production of their PET bottles.”
Based in Dortmund of Germany, KHS provides filling and packaging systems for the beverage, food and non-food industries.
Recently, KHS announced that it will exhibit its extended PET portfolio at this year’s NPE Plastics Show in the US.
At the event, the company will exhibit light single-serve formats, wide-neck and oval packaging solutions, as well as advanced compact machines.
