Inalpi, an Italian dairy company, has invested in DS Smith’s bag-in-box packaging system for food industry applications.

DS Smith Plastics, Rapak has provided custom designed Autokap 600 series bag-in-box filling system with HEPA filter for Inalpi to meet its growing demand from food companies.

The Autokap bag-in-box system can be integrated with Inalpi’s processing systems to spport the operations.

Rapak Autokap 600 series single-head semi-automatic filling machines have been developed to be used for a range of fresh or stable liquid products.

The system is designed for both hot and cold fill of 1.5L to 20L bags at a lower production output.

Bags are manually loaded into the machine and after filling, they are ejected onto the roller conveyor for loading into boxes. Depending on the bag volume, the system offers flow rate (BPM) up to 300 bags per hour.

Inalpi has selected DS Smith’s bag-in-box packaging system due to lack of suitable system for packaging products between 5L and 20L, and at the same time increasing of demand for its milk, mascarpone cheese, cream and anhydrous milk from food companies

Inalpi is also using the new bag-in-box flexible packaging system for chilled filling of product in combination with irradiated bags, helping to meet food safety standards.

Rapak supplies bag-in-box, filling equipment and intermediate bulk containers (ibc) for the liquid packaging industry.

The business unit offers a range of aseptic packaging and standard liquid filling systems for different markets. It provides manual, semi-automatic single head fillers and fully automated multi-head filling machines for filling fresh and stable liquids, as well as UHT, aseptic, pasteurised, and sensitive liquids.

Inalpi supplies its dairy products to the customers in the foodservice, retail and industrial culinary preparations sectors.

The company is a major supplier to Ferrero S.p.A. di Alba, which is claimed to be the third largest chocolate and confectionery producer in the world.
