The company provided wedge-shaped pack with oxygen-barrier label, which enables customers to avoid use of plate foe serving and only requires finger-contact to serve cheese.
RPC’s new solution includes a wedge-shaped injection moulded polypropylene pack with an inner plastic seal and an oxygen barrier label.
Some portion of packaging’s upper section is transparent, which makes to appear yellow color of the cheese to the customers.
Consumers need to remove the base and plastic seal, put the base back on, turn the container upside down and remove the top cover for serving the cheese on triangular plate base.
By replacing the top cover, the cheese can be re-sealed and stored. The wedge-shaped pack can be fully recycled.
Skånemejerier tested the pack with a range of qualitative and quantitative tests through taking support of consumers during the development phase.
Skånemejerier Allerum & Cheese brand manager Jannica Andersson said: “We wanted to step up and offer consumers a striking new solution for our Allerum series of mature cheese.
“With the bespoke pack from RPC Superfos, we are now rejuvenating the image of cheese packaging and have a container that makes our cheese stand out from the crowd.”
“The cheese stays aromatic and is well-protected in the pack after opening. Additionally, you reduce the number of plates that go into your dishwasher as the lid works as a serving plate.”
In April this year, RPC Superfos provided its SuperLock container for Ranobo, a Belgian wholesaler of nuts, tropical fruits and rice crackers.
SuperLock container enables supermarket shoppers to mix their own selections of nuts, and is suitable for both point-of-sale allure and on-the-go convenience.
The self-service container is available in two sizes such as 300g and 450g. The container has to be embellished with in-mould labeling before it is filling up with nuts.
