US-based hybrid packaging supplier Berlin Packaging has acquired Greece-based closures, corks, and glass containers supplier Coropoulis Packaging.

Both firms have not revealed the terms and value of the transaction.

The acquisition will help Berlin Packaging to expand its operations in Greece. It also expands the firm’s expertise in corks and closures production.

Under the agreement, all employees and locations of Coropoulis will be retained.

Berlin Packaging MED CEO Elias Valavanis said: “I’m excited to welcome one of Greece’s leading packaging suppliers to the Berlin Packaging family.

“This combination allows us to offer our combined customers an even broader assortment of closures and capping solutions.”

Founded in 1893, Coropoulis Packaging has local market knowledge and expertise in providing packaging solutions to various sectors.

It provides packaging solutions for the wine, spirits, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics end markets.

The company offers bottling and capping machinery and technical support along with its skill in closures, corks and glass packaging.

Coropoulis Packaging CEO Aristos Coropoulis and president Eugene Coropoulis said: “At Coropoulis Packaging, we pride ourselves on offering our customers the best possible products and services, a value we share with Berlin Packaging.

“Joining companies allows us to provide more products and services to our customers and more opportunities for our people.”

Coropoulis’ acquisition is the second global deal that Berlin Packaging has completed this year.

Berlin supplies glass, plastic, and metal containers and closures. It also provides package design, financing, consulting, warehousing, and logistics services for customers in all industries.

In October last year, the firm acquired glass packaging decorator StyleGlass for an undisclosed sum.

Greece-based StyleGlass provides the decoration of glass packaging for the food, beverage, beauty, and pharmaceutical end markets along with decoration techniques, including glassware painting and printing.
