Metal and glass packaging solutions provider Ardagh Group has opened a new can ends manufacturing facility in Manaus, Brazil.

Featuring production and inspection equipment, the new facility has capacity to produce 12 million ends per day.
Ardagh Metal Beverage Brazil operations director Augusto Seoane said: “This significant investment in Manaus strengthens Ardagh Group’s position in the Brazilian market place, and complements our beverage can production facilities in Jacarei and Alagoinhas.
“The new facility allows us to support both existing and new customer requirements.”
Ardagh said that the new facility, which employs more than 80 people, consolidates its position as a producer of beverage cans and ends in Brazil while serving a growing customer base.
Earlier this year, Ardagh has improved beverage can ends offering with investment in Deeside facility in the UK.
The investment allows the company to deliver two additional beverage ends, the 200 B64 and the 202 CDL, from its Deeside plant.
To support the production of new ends, the company has converted the final 202 B64 module to the sustainable 202 CDL end.
Ardagh currently operates 17 metal packaging production facilities across North America, Canada and Brazil.
The firm produces metal packaging for all market sectors, including beverage, food, pet food and seafood as well as offers innovations and technologies in areas such as down-gauging, shaping, decoration and convenience features.
It provides a range of beverage cans in different shapes and sizes to high volume segments of the drinks market, including beers, flavoured alcoholic beverages (FABs), wine, soft drinks, energy drinks and tea. Its beverage cans are available in standard, sleek and slim ranges.
Additionally, the company also offers a range of steel and aluminum cans in different shapes and sizes to high volume segments of the food market. It also offers Aluminium bottle packaging for all beverage types.
