Dulce Vida Spirits earlier launched fruit-infused flavored tequilas, including lime, grapefruit and pineapple jalapeno, in stock bottle with the cork, stood at nearly 14 inches tall.

However, the Blanco tequila bottles were placed to the top or bottom shelf as prime retail shelf location provided for approximately 13.5 inches.

Dulce Vida Spirits co-founder Richard Sorenson said: “Due to the height, our Blanco tequila bottles were relegated to the top or bottom shelf, which is not ideal.

“Our real fruit, real juice-infused flavored tequila was a new approach for the tequila market so this was a significant product refresh.

“We were going after a broader consumer market and it was critical to change the bottle height to fit on any and all shelves.”

To address the shelf placement issue, TricorBraun said it has sourced the right glass manufacturing partner in Mexico and redesigned the original Dulce Vida bottle to obtain optimal shelf placement.

Additionally, the firm has incorporated a new deco element on the bottle front to indicate the tequila flavor was important while retaining the same “old world style” look of the package.

TricorBraun noted that by changing the glass manufacturer and redesigning the bottle with smaller size allowed Dulce Vida to realize cost efficiencies in the supply chain process.

Sorenson said that the reduced height of the bottle allowed for better positioning of the bottle on the retail shelf, thus leading to increased sales and better brand recognition.

Dulce Vida, which is planning to introduce more flavors, is working on two ready-to-drink (RTD) tequila products.
