Sidel Group has further expanded its portfolio of packaging solutions with the acquisition of PET Engineering.

Based in San Vendemiano, Italy, PET Engineering was founded in 1999. The company employs 40 people.
PET Engineering brings to life creative and feasible packaging in polyethylene terephthalate for the food, beverage, cosmetic and household cleaners/personal care industries.
In 2016, PET Engineering invested in its re-branding and introduced a new identity, representative of the innovative approach integrating strategic design, engineering and research.
The company said the integrated consulting approach focused on both design and industrialization is supported by consolidated processes and its expertise at an international level.
The acquisition diversifies Sidel Group’s packaging services portfolio to better meet its customers’ requirements.
Sidel Group executive vice president of services Pavel Shevchuk said with packaging increasingly playing a key role in any marketing mix, both the firms’ complementary strengths in packaging design, qualification and blowing process will bring the company more business opportunities and offer customers an expanded choice of partners to materialize their creative needs.
Shevchuk said: “Packaging design has a critical impact on the whole supply chain efficiency and therefore is a key enabler of our brand promise – Performance through Understanding – and of the strategy behind it. This move will ultimately translate into solid value for the Sidel Group.”
PET Engineering CEO Moreno Barel said: “PET Engineering is perfectly established to help Sidel expand its packaging offering – especially regarding the design of containers for water, soft drinks, liquid dairy products and beer.”
The Sidel Group is formed by the union of two brands, Sidel and Gebo Cermex. Together, they provide equipment and services for packaging liquid, food, home and personal care products in PET, can, glass and other materials.
Sidel is a complete solutions provider that serves producers of water, carbonated soft drinks, liquid dairy products, juices, nectars, isotonics, soft drinks and teas.
Gebo Cermex is a complete solutions provider for beer, wine and spirits, as well home, food and personal care products.
