US-based packaging company Sealed Air (SEE) has acquired Irish packaging solutions firm Foxpak Flexibles for an undisclosed sum.

Foxpak has been purchased under SEE Ventures, an initiative of the company for investing in disruptive technologies and business models to boost growth.

Established in 2001 and based in Collon, Foxpak has developed digital printing for flexible packaging applications.

The company offers decorated packaging solutions, stand-up and spout pouches and sachets for a variety of markets, including food retail, pet food, seafood, and snacks.

By leveraging its digital printing capabilities, Foxpak has directly printed on flexible packaging materials.

Foxpak’s solutions hold the capacity to be quickly scaled up or down to meet the production requirements for customers of any size, said Sealed Air.

Foxpak, which employs around 33 people, serves brands in more than 30 countries.

SEE president and CEO Ted Doheny said: “Foxpak will build on our digital packaging solutions where graphic design and digital printing are key areas of value creation. Foxpak is recognised as a customer-centric, digital printing pioneer.

“Together we will accelerate our digital future with innovations in smart packaging for leading brands around the world.”

In June last year, Sealed Air announced an investment of more than $30m to expand and upgrade global facilities with advanced manufacturing and digital technology.

Sealed Air offers products under brands such as CRYOVAC brand food packaging, SEALED AIR brand protective packaging, AUTOBAG brand automated systems, BUBBLE WRAP brand packaging, and SEE Touchless Automation solutions.
