PAC Worldwide, a customised and contract packaging solution provider, has opened its new flexible packaging facility in San Juan Vistha, Mexico.

The new facility, located two hours north of Mexico City, is intended to scale the company’s manufacturing capabilities in Central America.

PAC Worldwide will now shift its operations from its Pedro Escobedo, Mexico location into the new full-service 83,000ft2 plant.

From the plant, the multinational corporation will produce a wide range of poly products and solutions, such as its Mailjacket and Polyjacket mailers, pouches, roll film, and security bags.

The nearby San Juan Valle will continue to be home to PAC’s paper products factory.

The opening event was attended by more than 100 local employees and the executive management team of PAC.

PAC Worldwide president Thomas Parenteau said: “This was a significant undertaking, involving a lot of detailed planning and coordination.

“Our team did an excellent job of integrating systems, machinery, and workforce. The result of their efforts is a best-in-class operation that expands manufacturing capacity and increases our operating efficiencies.”

The company established its first plant in the Queretaro region of Mexico 26 years ago and was supplying both Mexico and North America’s brands.

Customers from several industries, such as e-commerce, banking and financial services, courier services, and firms in the food and snack sector, have been served by the facility, the packaging solutions provider said.

The company anticipates growing the workforce by 15% or more during the busy holiday mailing season.

With the relocation, PAC can now produce more fibre and polymers, especially for use in food-grade packaging.

The Querétaro factory has the potential to manufacture over 700,000 bags per day when it is fully operational.
