KeyKeg and UniKeg producer OneCircle has entered into a partnership with French collection partner ELISE Alsace to boost the circular economy.

Under the deal, ELISE Alsace will collect used KeyKegs across the Alsace region. Later, they will be recycled to achieve their circular design and re-use as new KeyKegs.

Both companies will also work together to further expand the established collection community within France.

OneCircle France account manager Mariska Musch said: “France is an important market for OneCircle. Today’s announcement marks a significant step in building our community of collection partners to serve breweries and wineries across the country and help promote our commitment to the circular economy.”

As part of the collection partners network, ELISE Alsace will collect empty KeyKegs and separate them into different parts. Later, the kegs will be pressed into bales to prepare for the recycling process.

Upon pressing and picking up the bales at the ELISE Alsace site, the recycling partner will commence the processing of raw materials.

In a statement, ELISE Alsace said: “Our association Savoir et Compétences has always had the objective of associating the integration of people in difficulty and in a handicap situation with that of environmental protection.

“So when we were asked to start the ELISE franchise, it was an obvious environmental and social choice. Our association with OneCircle further strengthens our desire to collect and sort all waste produced by companies.”

ELISE Alsace, which is part of the ELISE group, has expertise in recycling office waste and washing plastic pallets. It is also now focusing on the disassembly and crushing of the KeyKeg.

In January this year, OneCircle announced a recycling partnership with Kwaliflex Food Recycling to boost the circular economy.
