The bottles, which will be the first in a line of limited edition bottles, are planned to be released throughout the year to appeal to family shoppers.

Nestlé said that the 33cl bottles will be made available in four designs, all of which provide a ‘water buddy’ to children.

Silika Shellie, head of category and shopper development at Nestlé Waters, says: “The perfect ‘Water Buddy’, we hope that our fun and creative Nestlé Pure Life range will encourage children aged 6+ to drink more water.

“With four different emojicons to choose from, children can select their favorite hydrating ‘Water Buddy’.”

“Bottled water is the fastest growing segment within the £7.3bn soft drinks category 3 and we’re confident that our new fun range of bottled water will help retailers to drive sales in-store and appeal to new shoppers.”

According to statistics provided by Nestlé Waters, 65% of children aged five to 16 in the country not take enough drinking water. The new bottles are expected to help address this issue, Nestle said.

Earlier, Nestlé Waters UK introduced Nestlé Pure Life Super Hero bottles which were released in the market in 2016.

Separately, Nestlé Waters earlier has selected Centre County in Pennsylvania, US, as a potential site for the construction of new $50m bottling facility.

The firm expects the new facility, which would bottle Deer Park 100% Natural Spring Water, to meet the increasing consumer demand for bottled water.
