Flexible packaging solutions provider Kendall Packaging has invested in new laminator with cold seal technology, in a bid to expand its production operations.

Kendall has installed a coater/laminator combination to expand its product offering for meeting major packaging requirements.

The company has installed Nordmeccanica Super Combi 4000 laminator, a coater/laminator combination, at the firm’s Jefferson location in Wisconsin, US to expand its product offering for meeting major packaging requirements.

The laminator is touted to be the first of its kind at the firm’s Jefferson facility, and the third overall Nordmeccanica laminator for Kendall.

Cold seal or self-seal adhesives are suitable for use in a range of applications such as granola and protein bars, confectionery products, and medical product packaging.

Nordmeccanica Super Combi 4000 system can be used for solventless laminating, single station flexo printing/coating, rotogravure coating and cold seal coating.

Cold seal feature offered by the system will provide various benefits to the customers, including high production speeds, sealing with no heat and advanced web handling technology.

Recently, the company has established identical facilities, updated the look of the logo and designed a mobile responsive website, as well as invested in advanced packaging technology.

In January this year, Kendall Packaging invested in a 10c Miraflex II AM press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) for the expansion of its KS plant in Pittsburg.

The installation of the 10c Miraflex II AM Press marks the completion of the $10m expansion of Kendall’s KS plant.

The Miraflex II AM press features W&H’s fully-integrated Vision web inspection system with defect check and color check.

Other features of the press include the Turboclean advanced inking and wash-up system with electric pulsation-free pumps designed to reduce both ink and energy consumption.

Based in Mequon, Kendall Packaging is engaged in supplying packaging solutions for food, non-retail and personal care industry.

With specialized capabilities in printing, laminating, and slitting, the company operates two production facilities in Jefferson of Wisconsin and Pittsburg of Kansas.

The company’s solutions can be used in various applications, including baked foods, cheese, confectionery, dry foods, frozen foods, meats, pasta and rice, wet wipes, pet foods and treats, and snack foods.
