Global adhesive manufacturer H.B. Fuller has unveiled plans to construct a new adhesives manufacturing plant in Cairo, Egypt.

The new facility will allow the company to meet the demand from customers in Egypt, Turkey, Middle East and Africa.

The new plant will serve as a regional supply hub, as well as a centre of excellence for the company to manufacture adhesives.

Covering a gross area of 37,000m2, the two-storey production facility will be constructed at the CPC Industrial Park in Cairo.

The adhesives produced at the facility can be used in hygiene, packaging, labelling, paper converting and graphic art applications.

The facility is expected to commence production in the last quarter of 2022.

H.B. Fuller India, Middle East and Africa managing director Harsh Gupta said: “Our expanded presence in Cairo, with a high-tech site designed with future growth in mind allows us to double our production capacity and advance our technologies.

“This investment represents our commitment to better serving our customer base in close proximity to where they operate, for example in the markets for hygiene and packaging.”

H.B. Fuller has been carrying out operations in Egypt since 2008.

The company has also expanded its operations in South Africa to supply its adhesive products to more than 30 market segments.

In April this year, H.B. Fuller launched two new compostable adhesive solutions under the Flextra Evolution brand for flexible packaging applications.
