Finnish start-up has NWB Finland has introduced an advanced and environmentally friendly bag-in-box packaging solution for liquids.

The concept, NWB packaging, is recyclable, user friendly and logistically efficient.
The new bag-in-box packaging can be used for all liquids, including water, wine, fruit juice, milk and olive oil.
Rapak, part of DS Smith Plastics, has provided the bag and dispensing tap for the new bag-in-box packaging solution.
The products supplied by Rapak ensure minimal contact of liquid with air even after opening, said DS Smith.
Based on bag-in-box principle, the NWB packaging features three parts such as outer cardboard box, flexible bag and dispenser.
The box will provide protection from direct sunlight to the product and also enables to save up to 90% in waste transportation compared to plastic bottles that will get flattened after use.
The air-tight flexible bag enables to extend the product shelf life for an additional 1-20 weeks based on the product type and storage conditions.
DS Smith also noted that NWB looks equally appealing in a bar, office meeting room, outdoor event or on a kitchen table.
DS Smith’s plastic division manufactures flexible packaging, filling equipment, liquid dispensers, rigid packaging returnables and foam products.
