Currently, Dunapack Rambox has a portfolio of over 500 local customers covering all major industrial sectors.

The facility in Bolintin-Deal is being developed to operate as a complimentary production site along with the firm’s existing site in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna.

The company will also carry out a significant technical upgrade to the existing facility in Covasna.

Expected to be operational in June 2019, the 27,000m² Bolintin facility will have a production capacity of 180 million m² per year.

The new facility will be installed with advanced equipment such as high-speed 2.8m Fosber corrugator, which is Bobst’s high-precision and multi-colour converting machine. It will also feature an automated pallet operation system.

The Bolintin facility’s product mix includes corrugated boxes, industrial packaging for bulk sizes, retail and e-commerce packaging, as well as various multi-colour packaging solutions.

Both Romanian facilities will enable Dunapack to achieve a production capacity of around 300 million m² per year.

Dunapack said the broad production spectrum reflects the demands generated by an increasingly segmented consumer market.

Dunapack Packaging division CEO Alexander Enzenberg said: “The superb location of the new Dunapack Rambox factory, situated just 20 kilometers from Bucharest, allows us to provide our Romanian customers with the best product quality and service possible.

“In addition, due to our flexible machinery set-up, we have the opportunity to react quickly and efficiently to new industry challenges.”

Dunapack Packaging, part of the Prinzhorn Group, has 20 corrugated packaging plants in 10 different countries.

Prinzhorn Group CEO Cord Prinzhorn said: “Romania was and still is one of our key growth markets. With the support of local authorities and all the necessary ressources at hand, we are pleased to be taking this major step in this vibrant and growing market.”

Based in Vienna of Austria, Prinzhorn Group operates three divisions, including Dunapack Packaging, Hamburger Containerboard and Hamburger Recycling.
