Paper Plus Europe, a manufacturer of carbon-neutral paper in the UK, is set to grow globally after the Department for International Trade (DFIT) helped the company secure a £5.5m investment.

The investment will help Paper Plus expand its office in London and its presence in the UK market, create seven new jobs, and add to the more than half-a-million trees that have been saved in the last two years.
Paper Plus claims that its product saves three times more trees than normal recycled paper.
The company will use part of the funding for product development, which will tackle plastic waste caused by single-use plastic food packaging.
Its research and development operation will also benefit, which will help develop its biodegradable and compostable envoPAP food grade packaging.

Earlier, the minister met representatives and experts from companies and industry at the Advanced Engineering 2018 trade show in Birmingham.
Over 600 suppliers and thousands of visitors participated in Advanced Engineering, one of the biggest trade shows of its kind in Europe.
The UK Pavilion of the Department for International Trade, which housed more than 18 companies, showcased expertise across the advanced engineering technical spectrum.
