Corrugated Synergies International (CSI) is planning to invest more than $31m in new production facility in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, US.

Headquartered in Renton, Washington, CSI is a project development and operational services company. It is specialized in sheet feeding to the corrugated industry.

The investment is a part of the firm’s expansion plan in the country. The investment will be directed towards infrastructure, production equipment, and the renovation of their new facility, which is expected to create 120 new manufacturing jobs.

CSI CEO John Perullo said: “We are proud to be making a long-term investment in New Mexico by placing our newest manufacturing facility in Santa Teresa.

“New Mexico’s business-friendly climate made the decision to come to New Mexico an easy one. The Governor’s visit to our corporate headquarters in the Pacific Northwest underscored the State’s commitment to welcome us.”

The company has developed and operated 12 sheet feeder operations, three full-line box plants, using 17 corrugators.

New Mexico Governor Martinez said: “When we create a business-friendly environment we attract companies, like Corrugated Synergies International, that make an incredible difference in our communities by creating good jobs for New Mexicans.”

The investment announcement comes after Martinez’s visit to CSI’s corporate headquarters to discuss the benefits of expanding its operations in New Mexico.

The state’s Economic Development Department will also contribute $1m in Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) funding for the facility.

Earlier this year, CSI has invested in Electronics For Imaging’s (EFI) full ecosystem of technologies to advance its corrugated packaging operations.

The company purchased full ecosystem of EFI technologies for corrugated packaging, including EFI corrugated packaging suite, manufacturing execution system (MES) software for business ERP and production management integrated with an EFI Fiery digital front end (DFE).

CSI’s purchase also includes Nozomi C18000 high-speed single-pass LED inkjet press.
