Printing and packaging supplier Flint Group has increased safety and efficiency in the press room with the launch of a new, lightweight family of rotec Sleeves and Bridges.

The new product line – rotec Lightweight Premium Sleeve, rotec ULW Bridge and rotec Atlas CFX Bridge – offers similar polyurethane coating, which is durable and solvent resistant.

The Luxembourg-based firm claims that rotec Lightweight Premium Sleeve offers weight savings up to 40% compared to similar premium sleeves. The plate mounting sleeve’s dimensional stability enables high printing speeds.

Additionally, the sleeve is upgraded with an aluminum end plate, which seals the edges for additional protection against inks, cleaning liquids and humidity.

The rotec ULW Bridge is an ultra-lightweight adapter that offers up to 65% reduction in weight. It is suitable for all press widths, and offers particular benefits where higher wall thicknesses are most commonly used.

Available in either the rotec Airo design or the rotec Unifit design, the rotec ULW Bridge construction can work with virtually all types of air cylinders.

Furthermore, the bridge can be customized with special features such as the rotec Eco Bridge Technology with a breathable metal ring which creates an air pillow for easy and fast mounting, or the rotec Omega Surface Technology for conductivity properties.

The rotec Atlas CFX Bridge has been designed to reduce press vibrations in high speed printing. It has a carbon fiber reinforcement layer, which provides superior strength and stability to the fiberglass base. When coupled with the hard polyurethane outer coating, it provides maximum stability for extremely high print performance at high press speeds.

The bridge is embedded with aluminum end rings for extra protection.

Flint Group sales director Bob Adler said: “Press operators find that the extremely low tolerances of these sleeves over time result in more consistent register accuracy, thereby delivering unparalleled print results. Presses can run faster with a tight tolerance product.

“They are also less susceptible to damage and wear and tear over time, thereby having sleeves last a little longer in use.”
