Glass packaging solutions provider Beatson Clark has introduced a new 330ml amber drinks bottle for both beers and soft drinks.

The new bottle has been designed for breweries and drinks producers to better promote their brand.

Beatson Clark stated that an unusual shape or design of the bottle makes consumers look twice and helps the product stand out on the shelf.

The new design is based on an Alpha Sirop bottle, which is generally used for medicines. The pharmaceutical design will enable drinks brands to convey a retro and vintage feel to the consumers.

Beatson Clark has changed the bottle’s neck finish from MCA to a standard crown neck finish and is tested to 3.0 bar to make it suitable for carbonated or fermented drinks.

Beatson Clark marketing manager Charlotte Taylor said: “This bottle will be unique in the UK and we think it will prove very popular with breweries and drinks manufacturers.

“It’s a completely new design and can be supplied as a standard bottle from our general sale range. Or for a small initial outlay customers could add their own embossing to the bottle with a minimum order of just 150,000 units in either neck finish.”

The company’s amber glass will help efficiently protect the contents of the bottle from harmful ultraviolet light.

According to the company, the amber bottles consist of more than 60% recycled glass and make them a preferred choice for sustainable packaging.

Taylor further added: “Our new 330ml amber drinks bottle is also a sustainable choice for beverages.

“Not only do our amber bottles have over 60% recycled content, but glass is the only mainstream primary packaging material that doesn’t require a plastic layer between the drink and the packaging.”
