Employing over 150 people, Beamglow offers its products to customers in personal care and luxury markets.

The firm’s purchase of MASTERFOLD 110 folder-gluer follows investments in series of business, including an increase in foiling and die-cutting capacity to increase throughput and enhance client care and satisfaction.

Beamglow operations manager James Griffin said: “We know that the industry will assume we’re investing in this technology for output and productivity reasons. However, the truth is that this is all about quality control and consistency of production for what are exacting market needs.

“We demand perfection and minimize waste and errors at all times to effect just-in-time manufacturing. The new MASTERFOLD investment simply adds to our ability to further deliver excellence in quality, service and support for our strategic clients.”

Designed to run up to 700m/minute, the all-new Bobst MASTERFOLD 110 has a 15% faster set up time and increases throughput by 10%.

The machine allows Beamglow to add versatility in the types and styles of packaging in addition to providing safety.

Bobst area sales manager Craig McGowan said: “This is a really exciting step for both Bobst and Beamglow; it is the first machine of its kind to be installed in the UK and is the leading technology in the world for folding and gluing.

“The model is highly configurable and has been tailored entirely to Beamglow’s needs in order to enable the solution to grow and adapt with their specific business requirements.”

Additionally, the new machine is designed to provide a 10% reduction in noise compared with existing models, Bobst said.

Griffin added: “This new investment, with its game-changing focus on production quality and consistency, will give us the peace of mind that we can continue to drive our standards even higher whilst maintaining our manufacturing flexibility.”
