Packaging company Amcor has completed the acquisition of a premier flexible packaging plant located in the Czech Republic.

The site’s location improves Amcor’s capacity to meet rising customer demand across its flexible packaging network in Europe.

Amcor Flexibles Europe, Middle East & Africa president Michael Zacka said: “With this acquisition, we are investing to accelerate the organic growth momentum of our flexibles business in Europe in attractive segments.

“The scalable nature of the acquired site and its attractive location further bolsters our ability to service strong customer demand and generate strong returns for Amcor shareholders.”

The facility, a greenfield development, was commissioned by DG Pack in 2019 and has advanced specialised technology for attractive markets including pet food and coffee.

The land and structures purchased also offer the opportunity to greatly expand operations and set up a highly effective manufacturing facility.

Last month, the company introduced a new sample of spirits bottles made of recyclable PET that meet the new US Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) sizes.

The new line has developed to offer customers the freedom and flexibility to explore new markets while determining consumer interest.

Amcor is engaged in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions for, beverage, food, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal care, and other products.

The company generated $15bn in annual sales in the fiscal year 2022 from operations that spread across 220 locations in 43 nations.
