Transcontinental Advanced Coatings, a provider of precision coated papers, films and speciality substrates, has rolled out Total Care, a new portfolio of medical components.

Total Care is intended for use in advanced wound care dressings, consumer and cosmetic dressings, ostomy devices, IV, patient monitoring devices, and antimicrobial hard coats.

The new portfolio will provide customised solutions that support brand confidence, patient comfort, care, and healing, said the company.

TC Transcontinental Advanced Coatings senior vice president Sam Bendavid said: “We expanded our medical product portfolio in response to strong customer demand, leveraging our 50 years of product development experience, coupled with world-class cleanroom manufacturing facilities in two continents and recent capital investments.

“Our purpose is to offer industry-leading technical performance and a simplified supply chain that the market demands of medical component manufacturers with our comprehensive Total Care portfolio.”

The Total Care line is a complete portfolio of medical products including the newly upgraded inspire family of ultra-thin polyurethane films and medical-grade adhesives for wound care.

The company included new silicone adhesives and hydrophilic foam products used in bi- and tri-laminate constructions and wound dressings, in the portfolio.

It is also extending Total Care to include z-flo conductive films for patient monitoring and medical devices, and reflex antimicrobial hard-coated optical-grade films.

The films are intended for use in challenging applications for human-machine interface (HMI) and membrane touch switch (MTS) applications.

According to the company, thin-gauge, speciality medical polyurethane films deliver advanced wound care and provide superior ultra-breathability and conformability.

It is also rolling out inspireTotal Care Ultra-Breathable, a premium line of cast medical films that deliver quality, design, and performance.
