Toshiba America Business Solutions, a provider of multifunction printers, managed document services and digital signage, has commenced shipping of its print and apply labeling system designed to enhance operational efficiency.

Developed in collaboration with Panther Industries, the print and apply system is integrated with Toshiba’s B-EX4T1 and B-EX4T2 thermal barcode printers as well as Panther Industries’ Shadow automated labeling product to tackles supply chain and logistics labeling applications.
Toshiba America Business Solutions chief marketing executive Bill Melo said: “Our collaboration with Panther Industries equips the materials handling industry with a high-performance and affordable print and apply system.
“As a result, we are now enabling supply chain and logistics professionals to tackle label applications more efficiently, accurately and affordably.”
Capable of printing and applying labels on-demand with high accuracy, the Toshiba’s print and apply system can be integrated with scale heads, barcode scanners, warehouse management systems and enterprise resource planning systems.
The system also allows warehouse and distribution center professionals to install it on a tabletop or a stand adjacent to a conveyor for top and side labeling, Toshiba said.
Featuring Toshiba’s Ribbon Save 1 technology, the system also optimizes ribbon consumption and reduces waste.

Earlier this year, Toshiba said it has showcased the print and apply system at MODEX 2018 event held in April at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
At the event, the firm also displayed its other signature thermal barcode print technologies.
Panther Industries is a manufacturer of automated labeling equipment. It product line comprise the Panther P8, NEXTStep, CUB Label Applicator, and Panther Shadow.
In June 2018, Toshiba America Business Solutions expanded its Encompass managed print services (MPS) program to include Toshiba and other OEM thermal barcode printers.
The expanded MPS program now fully supports and optimizes supply chain and logistics operations thermal barcode print fleets with OEM-branded parts, labeling supplies and full-service maintenance.
