Mailway Packaging Solutions’ first project for international dairy company Fayrefield Foods was to create a promotional pack for an award-winning cheddar cheese to be sold with a free tea towel.
Mailway designed, supplied and packed 250,000 special packs of Collier’s Powerful Welsh Cheddar. It also sourced and supplied all the materials.
Each of the packs contained a 450g piece of cheddar with a tea towel and was assembled at Mailway’s specialist chilled facilities using the company’s high- speed carton closing and gluing line.
Mailway sales director Stewart Clough says: “Cost-effective packaging solutions that allow for the use of premium items and cross branding to drive sales are becoming more commonplace in the chilled cabinet at retail. Our full service offering in this area is certainly helping us to increase our exposure.”
