Penrith Doors, which specialises in the volume production of veneered, foil and moulded internal doors has reported that its Mosca 506 automatic shrink-wrapper is performing to a high standard and delivers exceptional performance and reliability in an unusual and demanding environment.
The layout of the company’s warehouse operation requires forklifts to be able to stack pallets directly onto the machine, and as a result the stretch-wrapper was installed 18 months ago below floor-level in a purpose-built pit.
“The Mosca machine is literally a part of the warehouse now, and its integration with the rest of the warehouse gives us a hugely reliable and flexible end-of-line resource,” says Andrew Taylor, engineering manager at Penrith Doors.
To protect the quality of its products during transit, Penrith Doors manufactures bespoke pallets that are designed to match the shape of the doors, and so chose the 506 because it could accommodate a variety of shapes. The shrink-wrapper incorporates a turntable that is said to provide smooth handling, and features all-electric technology that is said to reduce maintenance and running costs.
The company is also impressed with the service provided by Mosca’s wholly-owned UK subsidiary, Mosca Direct.
“As the stretch-wrapper is hard to reach, we’ve selected Mosca’s full service package so that their specialised engineers come on-site to care for the machine,” says Andrew Taylor. “The support we’ve received has always been prompt, polite and impeccable.”
