US-based Formulated Solutions has signed a new deal to acquire a 455,000ft² FDA-approved pharmaceutical liquids, semi-solids, aerosol, BoV, and metered dose nasal spray production facility located in Tennessee, US.

Established in 1999, Formulated Solutions is a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO).

The addition of the new site in Cleveland will bolster the firm’s capabilities in topicals, metered dose nasal sprays, and the pressurised package manufacturing sector.

Additionally, the plant will allow the firm to quickly bring additional production capacity online and support the growth of its future product pipeline.

Formulated Solutions said that the Cleveland facility has broad capabilities for producing and packaging pharmaceutical and consumer self-care formulations.

Located on a 60-acre site, the two-building facility has seen many capital improvements over the past five years. It now has a wide range of product capabilities, including the ability to blend liquids, semi-solids, and suspensions.

It also has packaging capabilities that range from flexible tubes, liquid-fill bottles, and metered dose sprays to traditional aerosol and bag-on-valve aerosol delivery systems.

The site was previously been owned and run by several different pharmaceutical corporations. This will be the first time in the site’s 43-year history that a privately held CDMO will be in charge of running it.
