The EF SYMJET press, which was introduced to the market in 2015, is equipped with the fully automated MPS EF flexo platform and an integrated Domino N610i digital UV inkjet label press.

MPS said that the new digital/flexo all-in-one printing press with in-line finishing offers EDNN with extreme flexibility and very short turnaround times to their label production capabilities.

The investment in the press comes as EDNN has experienced an increased demand for smaller sized jobs and variable data. The firm is specialized in flexo presses for label printing jobs.

EDNN general manager Vincent Belksma said: “Hybrid printing is the future of label printing, and with the EF SYMJET hybrid press, we can combine digital technology with flexo printing, as well as the finishing — all in one pass.

“We are extremely excited to offer the ultimate in flexibility, and our customers will appreciate the increased level of service with this truly integrated solution.”

For EDNN, the EF SYMJET press is integrated with flexo units to print PMS colours, black marks, varnish and cold foil for a glossy, metallic silver or gold effect. The press also features a turner bar on the rail and a die cut unit.

MPS Systems area sales manager Arnaud Fleuren said: “With their new MPS EF SYMJET hybrid press, EDNN can enter new markets that digital label printing brings such as personalization and shorter print jobs, while offering enhanced benefits of flexo such as PMS colours, metallic shades (gold/silver), delam/relam blackmarks on backing paper, cold foil, and spot varnish. It really combines the best of both worlds in a future-proof solution.”

MPS said that the automated flexo/converting system and digital UV inkjet system can be combined. It can be used integrated inline or separately to work offline.

Belksma added: “MPS makes high quality presses, and combined with the inkjet experience of Domino, we can print perfect quality – especially on shorter runs.”
