Duravant, a US-based engineered equipment and automation solutions provider, has established Duravant Brazil and acquired a majority stake in BVSP.

BVSP is engaged in the production of components and parts for processing machinery. It also provides aftermarket services for poultry processing lines.

The financial terms of the investment were not revealed.

Duravant emerging markets chief operating officer Petros Diamantides said: “Brazil is the second largest global market for poultry production, and Duravant’s investment to build a sales and service infrastructure in the region advances our commitment to directly support our global food processing customers.

“Our new entity in Brazil will also leverage Duravant’s portfolio of world-class brands, products and services to expand our local reach into more diverse end markets.”

The automation solutions provider supplies its portfolio of products, services, and integrated solutions via its 13 operating companies.

The companies design, manufacture, and support customers of food processing, packaging and material handling sectors in over 190 countries across the globe.

Duravant Brazil is said to be the company’s first sales and service entity. It will centrally support customers in multiple brands from a single geography.

Diamantides added: “We are committed to building long-term partnerships with key accounts and local clients, and investing in a Duravant-backed infrastructure is critical to delivering the highest lifetime value to our customers.”

Currently, BVSP handles three sites and has plans to expand its manufacturing capabilities in future.

BVSP general manager Vinicius Cuchiara dos Santos said: “We’re very excited about our new partnership with Duravant.

“Their impressive history of growth and innovation is a reflection of their customer-centric culture, which aligns perfectly with our service philosophy and commitment to the Brazilian market.”

Headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, Duravant has manufacturing, sales and service facilities across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

In December last year, Duravant snapped up Spain-based Multiscan Technologies, which provides machine vision solutions for the food processing industry.
