UK-based corrugated packaging supplier Logson Group has completed acquisition of Cardboard Box Company, an independent sheet plant based in Accrington, Lancashire, for undisclosed amount.

Cardboard Box Company, which has a turnover of more than £17m, employs 90 people at the Lancashire facility. It firm offers corrugated packaging solutions for a wide range of applications.
Logson Group CEO Alex Kelly said: “Having courted Peter for many years, we are delighted to have finally acquired, what we believe, is one of the UK’s finest sheet plants. The business is well positioned to meet the increasing demands of key high growth sectors including Home Retail, FMCG and POS.”
With the acquisition, Cardboard Box Company will continue to operate as a stand-alone brand within the Logson Group.
The firm will join Logson Group’s sister brands of Board24, Boxes and Packaging, Cases24, Boxshop and Jardin Corrugated.
In total, the companies offer a full range of corrugated packaging solutions from 18 locations across the UK.
Cardboard Box managing director Ken Shackleton said: “This is a great fit for our business, the Logson approach will allow us to maintain our identity and entrepreneurial flair, backed by the financial strength and scale of the UK’s largest independent corrugated packaging group.
“We have exciting plans for our business moving forward and this move can only enhance our offering to both new and existing customers.”
In 2017, Broad24 said it is investing £5m at its sheet feeder operation in Preston, England.
The Broad24’s investment is aimed to deliver growth and first class service requirements for its key and strategic customer base.
The investment is expected to increase loading and storage capacity by 30% and remove the potential for bottlenecks through a forth material handling line, fully integrated into the existing system, the firm said earlier.
